Umi translates to “the sea” in Japanese. Since 2018, I've been working on this long-term project and regularly travel to Quiberon in Brittany, France, for it. Step by step, I try to grasp the landscape a little bit more. To perceive the nuances, sense the moods.
The works are photographic unicums, taken in analog large and medium format and realized in a platinum palladium technique on handmade paper.
